Game loads then freezes Thread - Wander

Wander! loads, I hear the starting music, I end up on a screen that looks like two off-kilter islands with some sky and water in between. Neither WASD nor mouse seems to do anything. I CAN click on the purple flower in the lower left hand corner, which brings up a menu that looks like the various morph forms. Since it sounds like tree is first, I clicked on that one. Still nothing. Am I missing something basic? My PC is less than 3 years old and runs everything else very well.

Just tried the game on my Mac and I have the identical problem. Can anyone help?

These look to be the same issue that Faereuth was describing in Alpha .. Still reading....

Fixed this, sorry for annoyance. I had not tested some of the new dream weaving server side code quite enough.

Thanks! it is working well now. The only thing I cannot figure out is how to log out of the game!

Apologies for the necro, but it seems like a waste to make a thread ushering the same issue and words as the OP.
I have the same issue as of 2014 on a new computer. I've tried to make it an exception in my firewall and I ran as administrator to no avail. Either I haven't gotten a new update yet or I have an issue with my PC.

Also having the same issue. Game loads, sound is okay but the game gets stuck on a sky-box esc screen with the flower at the bottom left but nothing working.

Hello, I'm using Linux and having the same problem. Has anyone found a solution?

I've also encountered this. Can click the flower and click one of the symbols but nothing happens after that. (AMD 8 core 8bg memory on win7 - I can see the game hitting the cpus, all of them for about 44ish percent activity while its on but nothing happens).

Add me to that list. It's not a hardware issue. This is a bug.

That's the current scenario. He tweeted me again yesterday confirming he'd be paying for a new server today (22nd Aug) and hasn't been able to previously because he lost his wallet/credit card at Gamescom.

Has anyone been able to play yet?

I just tried again after reading the above post that they would be paying for a new server 2 days ago, but had the same problem again, the only difference this time was it didn't freeze up completely after I clicked on an animal, and I was able to close it without killing it via the terminal as I have the last few times.

It would be nice to hear something from the developers about this.. I'm starting to worry that the game has been abandoned, which would be quite annoying after paying for it.

I just got back from holidays and was finally able to actually get into the game rather than being stuck on the 'tilt screen of doom'. Though I'm almost afraid to shut the game off in case it starts doing that again next time.

As I just mentioned in the other thread, the current version you can download is the very old "prototype" Wander from last year. Since then we have rewritten everything and the new version will be up for alpha testers in the near future on Steam. We will be sending out keys to everyone who's already paid.

If it seems like we've been neglecting the existing, prototype and live version of Wander that would be correct. The new one is a total rewrite so collecting any bugs from the existing one isn't useful, and the point of playing at the moment (during the alpha stage) is to test / provide feedback. We will have a lot of new stuff for people to test as soon as the version we've been working hard on for the last year is up.
