That's should read www.teamcraftgames.com not sure who these teamgraft guys are but they are definitely not making Velisia.

While we are at it, what do you think of the new art style and the direction we are taking Velisia? some feedback would be well received!

Digging the move to the Chibi models, for sure, but I feel there's too harsh of style contrast between the backgrounds (sketchbooky with 3d elements) and animated models (cell shaded anime).

I see more of a "Tales of Vesperia" watercolor/painted look to your backgrounds (no hard line, mask 3d assets to the best of your ability, use 'washes' instead of solid colors). This would make the characters pop nicely and match their level of quality (I know...easier said than done).

But character work is spot on - awesome work!

edit: This shot in particular...

Thanks for the feedback Boogie, we have indeed made efforts to blend the map assets with the actors and buildings that are placed on top. The bottom image of the characters on the road is quite an old image from the University course build of the game, about six months ago now.

I think we've managed to blend them alittle better now so i've remade (to the best I could what the changes to the game levels) that scene to see what you think. Indiedb.com

Yeah, certainly better...I'd just watch for any line on your background. IMHO, the grass strokes and (possibly unintentional) outline on the brick wall are what make the background feel out of place with the 3d characters.
