Upside-Down Dimensions is a highly visual game that combines action, hack n slash, RPG, stealth, platform and puzzles to create a unique and amazing gameplay experience. Play as two characters separated into different dimensions. Flip between these worlds to stop the nefarious Dark Shogun.
One of the problem of videogames is sometimes it is really difficult to make everything come together, especially when dealing with bosses or middle bosses. They are usually very strong and difficult to defeat, but at the same they must have a weak or combination of weak points that will allow the player to actually overcome their challenge.
When starting to develop a game, it is easy because there is nothing implemented and most of the behaviours and weaknesses are available :) but as you progress through the game, you start to find that most of the interesting behaviours and actions needed to overcome enemies have already been used...
What to do when reaching that point? Well why not looking at the history of videogames and look for some inspiration? That was what we have done, and we found that the first boss in Shinobi the arcade classic, would really be interesting to use, and at the same time could be a great homage to one of the great games of the gaming history.
In this snapshot, we are reactivating the shuriken mechanic and see how feasible could it be to use the shinobi way of defeating bosses.
