Unity of Command is an innovative and refreshing operational-level wargame that covers the entire 1942/43 Stalingrad Campaign on the Eastern Front. Playable from both the Axis and Soviet perspective, it strives to recreate the strategy, the forces involved and the general tension of that crucial period in World War II. Experience the highly fluid, enormously large battles of maneuver in a turn-based strategy setting. Take command in this mobile, back-and-forth sort of war where logistics and poor weather are often the decider, and defeat and victory are sometimes just a mile, or a day, apart.

Deceptively simply mechanics, echoed by the art-direction. What starts as a light and relaxing turn-base sim experience quickly becomes a brutally punishing strategy challenge! Each campaign has a flavor of it's own, and several winning strategies can succeed on each, though each is bounded within mid-scenario objectives. The prestige & reinforcement system adds an intriguing twist which I believe to be vital to completing decisive victories on the most difficult scenarios, though I haven't fully comprehended their strategic importance yet ;-)

I ******* love this. Play it if you love strategy. It's deeper and harder than you think.

Nette Idee
aber n bisschen teuer!!!

Very good 'Panzer General-feel' wargame, with an AI that is quite competent, forcing you to keep an eye on your supply lines while trying to capture all objectives... Easy to understand, challenging to master...
-1 For the difficulty of some missions that makes the game feel more a puzzle than a wargame. Also luck play too much a part in these specific missions, like random bad weather = impossible to get a Brillant Victory...
-1 for the too short campaigns, especially if you can't unlock extra battles by getting Brillant Victories...

Great logistics focused turn-based operational-level strategy.

I wish that authors provided more campaigns, but the existing scenarios are so well balanced, that they will provide hours of replayable gameplay.
