Patch 1.4 is our first post-Kickstarter patch, and brings forth a huge amount of new features, changes, and bugfixes, most notably ship customization and a new trading UI. You can read the full changelog below.
NEW FEATURES AND CHANGES:
-Added ship customization hangars to all shipdealers. The player can now change their headlight, engine, and paint colors for any ship, as well as view a preview of it in the hangar.
-Added the trading hangar when trading on stations, as well as a highly improved trading interface. This interface lets you filter by hardpoint, search by name, compare item stats, as well as get a preview of any items you’ll be purchasing, both in crate and equipment piece form. Far more functionality has been added as well, from unequippable items being greyed out to everything in between.
-Added new thruster camera effects.
-Some UI fonts and sounds have been changed for a more uniform look.
-The navigational map will now show lines to the nearest waypoint from the player’s ship.
-Dialogue now has a dedicated camera when talking to NPCs on stations.
-Hit sounds on enemies have been changed to be more bearable, both in terms of volume, pitch, and distance.
-All items have 3D icons now. Currently this only really applies when you’re trading, but more will occur in the future.
-All game options have a “restore defaults” setting.
-Tooltip times have been greatly reduced.
BUGFIXES:
-First time players will now have their default options set correctly.
-Keybinds on the title screen will now work correctly, as will the “restore defaults” button.
-Clicking away, moving away from, or otherwise exiting station rooms will close any active UI windows, preventing the player from getting stuck in them.
-Fixed issue where dialogue buttons could be set prematurely.
-Fixed issue where undocking on stations would cause the player to phase through a station and explode or otherwise cause issues.
-Offscreen indicators will no longer lag when appearing and far-away enemies will no longer appear on offscreen indicators.
-Waypoints will now properly update the navigational map.
-Following a laneline when it gets disrupted will properly update any waypoints.
-Player can no longer accidentally move around on stations when menus are open.
-Attempting to launch to space when not on a launchpad now works properly.
-Fixed issue where Sparkplatform wouldn’t die sometimes.
