OK so here is a "teaser turntable" for our Sci-Fi racing game TWIN/TURBO. Pretty sweet right?!
For those who don't know, TWIN/TURBO is an endless twitch reaction racer for PC built using Unity (other platforms targeted later - thanks Unity export button!), with procedurally generated track unfolding before the player. The track design is modular, so an infinite amount of corners and combinations of corners are created with every play, you never race the same track twice!
The player controls the two boosters on the back of the vehicle, one for the left side, one for the right. Pressing the corresponding buttons ignites the booster on that side of the vehicle - creating an instant and chaotic steering mechanism. No auto-run, no lanes to run in like other endless runner games.
The fun and addictiveness of the gameplay mechanics lies in trying to control the ship at break neck speeds, racing as fast as possible, surviving by not going off the edges of the track a'la F-Zero (pretty difficult) all in order to rack up a high score. When you die you start again. Simple right? You can tell we're very conscious of FEATURE CREEP - a deadly evil which dooms almost every software development process in the history of man - including games!
The version version you will play will be a prototype (we're not even labelling it a pre alpha yet!) so you can look forward to that in the coming weeks.
