Tiberian Sun: Reborn brings the exciting storyline and epic clashes from the classic Westwood Studios game, Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun to realm of first person shooters, with a twist. We've remained loyal to the style and feel of the 1999 classic, while integrating content from its expansion Firestorm with a bit of updated history to add to the mix. Built off the W3D engine Westwood Studios built for classics such as Earth & Beyond and Command & Conquer: Renegade finished up in 2001, we help bring the fight to you as you play out your role as any one of a number of infantry classes participating in team-based combat that often involves land, sea, and air combined-arms clashes that just don't happen in any other game. Oh, and did we mention it's FREE?

Post news Report RSS W3D Hub is looking for testers!

Our new community W3D Hub is looking for testers! We are a community housing 5 W3D Engine games such as Apocalypse Rising, Tiberian Sun: Reborn and Battle for Dune: War of Assassins!

Posted by on

Hello everyone! As the title suggests, W3D Hub is looking for testers. There are some big projects being worked on and we'll be needing internal testers to test out big updates before they reach the servers. Not only that, but some projects will be needing a lot of testing before they can even be released at all (Example: Apocalypse Rising). So why don't you come and join us during our testing sessions?

Deadline for applications: April the 3rd.

So how do you become a tester?

If you want to be a tester you will have to meet some requirements and send our lead tester (Nodlied), a pm on the forums.

What do I put in the pm?
There will be a few questions that you will need to answer. Please use the format below and answer the questions by sending Nodlied, One_Winged_Angel, TeamWolf or WallyWood a PM on the forums or me here on Indie/ModDB.

How long have you been playing/following our games?:

Why do you want to be a tester?:

Why should we hire you?:

How often do you expect to be available during our standard testing time? (21:00 GMT/ 13:00 PST/ 16:00 EST on Saturdays):

Extra information we should know about you:

Other than that, there are a few requirements for joining our internal testing team.
Requirements:
You have to have a W3D Hub forum account.
- How else would you join us in the tester forums?

You have to have a Skype account.
- We use skype daily to chat about the projects as well as to quickly call upon our testers. We do not use the voice chat function, only the text based chat.

You have to have Team Speak 3.
- We use teamspeak during testing sessions to make sure everything goes according to plan and to communicate with each other effectively. You don't need a microphone and you do not need to speak. As long as you have the ability to listen, you should be fine. (We'd would appreciate it if you do have a microphone!)

You have to be able to enjoy our games.
- In return for your services, we offer you early access to our games and if you don't like them, why even bother signing up?

While you do not need it, we would be happy if you have an IRC client and know how IRC works. Again, this isn't a necessity.

Are you the world's best tester?

Testing is a world of ups and downs. Sometimes there will be nothing to test while at other times, projects will compete for testing time. Some testing sessions consist out of bug and code testing while others revolve around good old gameplay. Is testing online and offline no problem for you? Then send in that PM of yours and maybe you'll join our new testing team!

Don't forget to keep following us here, Twitter, Facebook and our forums!

I might be able to sign up, I'll give it a couple days of thought though because I have a couple of personal projects and team to work on/with.

"You have to have a Skype account."

Faaiiil. Skype is spyware. Don't use it.

"You have to have Team Speak 3."

Why? Mumble is by far better, and open source.

Skype is the main instant messenger we use and we've had no issues with it thus far.

TeamSpeak 3 is our live chat program and works perfectly for us.
