Ladies, gentlemen, and those between, brace yourselves: Heroes are coming!
This next patch brings a slew of many new things, as well as addressing some old concerns.
We have reworked the guards to now have several roles instead of just the suicidal one. They will supervise work, patrol areas and rush to help other townies in danger.
The known hunger-lock phenomena has been reworked, no longer will hungry townies protest in anger. Now they will work slower and get depressed. A fair trade we might add.
We have added new content, decorations, different roofs, froggies camps in the jungle, windows, gates, colors, dressings and hats… yes... hats!
In the recreation area we have added the arena, where badgers can fight and shed blood to the joy and cheers of the viewers.
Oh yes, we also added the heroes. Right now, they fulfill maybe 5-10% of their potential. They explore the dungeon, which now has a fog of war and is not instantly revealed, they fight monsters, they may, depends on their moral, steal your stuff. But whatever you do, don’t lock them up. They will be driven insane and rampage through your town.
The heroes seeing light in this version are the dwarves, who prefer to sleep underground, the rogues, who prefer to steal your stuff than mess with dangerous monsters, the barbarians, who doesn’t care where they sleep, as long as they are getting their fresh stream of food, the highlanders, a danger junkies heroes who rather spend time at the dungeons than socialize in the tavern, the knights, an honourable fighters, and two special kind of heroes: Sips, the camp maker, who shoots fireballs, and Sir Punchwood the noble, who will help any damsel in distress.
In addition, we have reworked a lot of the underline code and mechanics, which should improve performance.

We are working in a 0.45a patch that we will release soon. It includes some fixes, some tweaks, a revamped pile/container management menu and a better exploring routine for heroes
does the bug fixes include planted pear trees disappearing while in the bush stage?
My town was raided by blood thirsty spiders. None were left safe. =(
Anyway. the towns wiki need to be updated, or the tutorial due to so many content added.
I don't know why but I can't seem to update my game. It says; 'There was an error during the gathering information process and it has stopped. There is no update available for this item. [52.0]'

It's a Desura error message. Please, try to uninstall and install the game again. Or just try to update again (maybe the servers still doesn't refreshed the game data)

Played for about ten minutes. All my villagers committed suicide. None of the fundamental user-facing issues appear to have changed.
The last two patches have really opened up the game, nice work devs!
Erm, since 0.45a I now can't seem to use the "harvest" tool on apple and pear trees which I planted in tilled earth. Right click -> harvest still works, but that's obviously tedius for big farms.
Yay finally they fixed that stupid food lock seemed 99% of my gameplay of this was just making bread

Desura needs authorization for all the files we upload. They have to test if the game/installation works before approve it.
The desura client has been updated to 0.45b but the standalone installers are still at 0.45a. Could somebody update the installers for those of us on Macs. please?
Now is done! But the demo files still needs authorization.

not sure how i've seen this update so far. honestly before hand i could always get my town to thrive untill the feed me bug killed them.. now i get ghosts of hero's past appearing and killing everyone in town, killed 1 two more pop'd up and killed my whole town. oh well, still like the editions to it
In this patch ghosts don't appear from graves, just from dead corpses. So, try to make graves :)
Ah so graves, okay that answers that. on the winter maps will wild wheat ever appear? also mixed maps are fun. yet killer when your surrounded by mobs on all sides. and is there anything that can be done about them walking soo slow from hunger they die even if they have the food in there hands? just cause they have to walk to the dining room first? they just never seem to make it. or the fact they will keep working instead of eating in time when they are hungry thou that only seems to happen a few random times
game speed setting has no effect whatever I choose.
The game has 3 speed levels, from 1 to 3

looks really good I hope something unique comes along with heroes like villains or random creatures..sort of like dungeon village for the iphone with the unique dragons appearing and different species coming to attack your town because of it's popularity..could add more depth to it
