The perfect combination of RTS and Action-RPG in an immersive open-world sci-fi setting created by one man.
After the last Progress Update I published a few weeks ago ( Timelesswar.com ) I began improving the System and now I am finally at a point where I can do some prototyping on the interior gameplay. So I thought why not share a little bit of how work looks from a developers perspective:
On this Desktop-Screeni you can see my test model, which is based on a new model of the Asen Airship in white-box phase, and the waypoint setup to make pathfinding work in interiors.
If the interior gameplay works to an extend where it is possible to enjoy the game, I will continue the work on the Airships model for which I have to create a custom shader to ensure a low Draw-Call-Count while keeping textures quite high res for large objects. A system which will come in handy for much bigger ships later on. ;)
Well, creating all those 106 waypoints in the Unity Editor was a point in the ***. If that setup works - and I don't only mean pathfinding, because that will definitively work - I also will have a good starting point to create a custom editor for building waypoint networks with ease. In other words, the first real modding tool for the game. xD
