Thrive is a game about the universe - we want to let you play however you want, make whatever you want, and live however you like. Thrive will be a free, open-source game created by an online community of dedicated volunteers. Our team seeks to accomplish two major goals: create engaging, compelling gameplay that respects our players' intelligence, and remain as accurate as possible in our depiction of known scientific theory.
A little concept art drawn up by one of our artists, pezzalis.
There will be more than one galaxy to explore and/or conquer?
The plan is to have a single 'realistic sized' galaxy, meaning it will be too big to explore in any reasonable amount of time (like Minecraft worlds).
In the space stage, can't we have, like, automated explorers, and automated colonizers and things?
this is like spore righr
So, what exactly is this being rendered in? Or is it just a drawing?

Ah, failed to notice the description box, sorry. Quite fancy artwork though, hats off to pezzalis.
awesome.
Looks like Spore, but so much better. Which is your goal, isn't it?
So you can't expolre the whole galaxy how you could do it in Spore?
because spore is not real sized and it was simple to travel iv inhabited most of my spore galaxy there are just s few stars i cant get to due to the fact of there location been to far
and with math you can have millions of starts unlike the 30-40k in spore and hopefully they make it so planets etc have cool orbits with moons and asteroids etc that can be mined etc completely away
i like the idea of no real boundaries eg its to big so u really have to work on it to get it
also have something in there so if you happen to do it you can unlock to be a galactic species and travel to the neighboring galaxy's
or make travel like warp fields so u have to build massive warp tunnels to travel further the distances between galaxy's is so vast u will need commit plenty of resources to the task
make worm holes rare if u find 1 it helps you work out how to make your own
i can def see me making it my task take over the entire universe lol just like i did in spore i just hope they make it so i can be a spore lol so i can take over other species like the flood or something haha
The Precursors created the Flood and most other species in the Milky Way Galaxy, just so you know.
There were close to 2 million in Spore. This would have to be close to 400 billion in order to be realistic. I would be thankful if they reach 1 billion really (that's a lifetime of playtime only to see each star once).
Just for math reasons, if you looked at each system for a mere 1 second, it would take you 31.6888 years to look at 1 billion solar systems.
bEssys (lso have something in there so if you happen to do it you can unlock to be a galactic species and travel to the neighboring galaxy's

I LOVE IT but theres hould be Neighboring galaxys FOR the galaxys :D
And
In god mode you should make so that the lplayer can modify How much stars are in his galaxy :D So It can be a cluster or a spiral :D :D :D :D :D :D :D!!!
