Hi guys,
Exciting news today!
Humble Store Launch
The kind folks who run the Humble Bundle have reached out to me about putting the game up on their store. Since it will be a while before the Greenlight goes through, it looks like this will be the game's launch platform, probably sometime towards the end of August. We may set up pre-orders for the game sometime before then, so stay tuned!
Scores Screen Redesign
The new scores screen is now in place in the game, and it looks fantastic! The game also now supports player names, as you can see on the wanted posters. But, in true party game spirit, you are limited to typing in your name with the game's controls (Up, Down, Left, Right, Stab, Item = U, D, L, R, S, I)
Full Controller Support & Custom Bindings
Thief Town previously has only supported Xbox controllers, and there was a good reason for that: Writing controller bindings across multiple platforms is actually a huge pain. Depending on the controller you are using, all of the key and axis codes can vary drastically depending on if you are using a Windows, Mac, or Linux computer. It wasn't worth it to test every common controller on every operating system just to set up bindings for it. Recently I got the idea to just prompt players to set their own buttons. There are only 6 buttons in the game, so it isn't a hassle to set them in order, and this way players can use any common controller or gamepad in whatever way they wish. So, Thief Town now supports all controller buttons and axes on all common controllers.
The desktop versions of the game are very close to completion. Next up, I will be adding in a few minor mechanics and tweaking the LAN latency handling. I'll post another update in a couple weeks.
Thanks for the support! Also please give Thief Town your Greenlight vote if you haven't yet!
