Overview:

"The Source" will be a First-Person Action Shooter with a storydriven solo-campaign in which the player starts in an open-world and tries to gather his former team members of a military unit, spreaded through a whole gameworld after the war (team members will also be playable in coop mode multiplayer).

In Solo compaign, the player must manage his equipment (e.g. upgrade weapons and other stuff with ressources from the environment like weapon parts, repairkits etc), fight against enemy opponents of different factions (militia gangs etc) and take missions to help locals to earn respect and support (useful for further intel about team members and other storybased information). The Game will also contain a dynamic and individual "housing and barracks mode", in clear words: The player can seek housings and buildings for supplies but he also can fortify buildings and use them as a designated safehouse (rearming, resupply and other customizable options will be available in those safe places).

During gameplay, the player will be updated about the whole background of different characters and the story about what happened as he passed away and got back to life as he woke up after 3 weeks in coma. The background stories will be provided with cutscenes as kind of remembrance of the player but also with information during interaction with NPC.

Planned Features of the Game:

  • Immersive campaign gameplay, inspired by former RL soldiers
  • Vast gameplay maps for SP/MP games
  • Customizable weapons, clothes and equipment
  • Realistic gamephysics
  • Many different scenario locations like desert, snowy mountains, cliffs, cities...and much

With another developer blog update we take focus on a detailed report about our progress and further steps of "The Source".
A lot of work was done and there's still a lot of things to do to ensure our game will run as smooth as possible while getting closer to beta version build of The Source.

With current alpha build, we're close to get it to beta stage and we're really happy to have Greenlight Games as Publisher of the game on our side for support and advise about all the upcoming steps and progress of planning the upcoming release.

As a young and forming Indie-Developer it's always hard and struggling to establish a growing community of fans/supporters and we're really proud and happy of all those following, supporting and watching our progress from the earliest moments on and we would like to thanks everyone who's following our progress on our social media pages. Thanks to all of you - you're simply amazing!

With Gamescom getting closer and closer, we are also involved with our fulltime jobs at different developers and publishers and we hope you will apologize if this time will bring less time to answer all the e-mails of you and media.
We do our best to get any mail replied as soon as possible.

Some other update and interesting stuff: As soon we got some time, we will take a short "developer's let's test" showing some first level gameplay of The Source on YouTube. Our Lead-Developer Daniel and maybe someone else of us will have you take a look and preview of our game soon, so be sure to watch our twitter for latest information.

Unfortunately financial assets are always limited to Indie-Developers, and as we decided to not getting use of crowdfunding cause of the "low amount" needed to get the game ready for release, we would welcome any help and support of our community, no matter how much, any help is appreciated if it's 1$ to more, we will honor any contribution with some "special gift".
So if you're interested in supporting our development team to aim an earlier release, simply send us an e-mail to dev@yetanotherindie.com or use our websites contact form on www.yetanotherindie.com!!

That's all for now, please make also sure to like us on Facebook, follow us on twitter or simply share and spread our game with others. Thanks to all of you.

Best wishes and have a great and happy time on Gamescom to all those of you attending,

James Andolf

Hello, my name is Tim Kristiansen.
I was wondering if you're looking for a music producer/sound designer for your game.
I have previously made the music and effects for 'Robototics' which became a featured app/game on appstore.
If you're interested, I'd really appreciate it if you contact me back. Thank you :)
