The Protectors of Etheria is a stand-alone mod of the game Warlords Battlecry 3 (i.e. it can be run without having the original game installed - 100% free full game). It is an improved RTS/RPG game with new campaigns, quests, terrain, units, items, heroes, modding features and more. Beta versions available for download!
Here's another new random map generator theme utilising the WBC2 tiles. This terrain is similar to the Outlands theme but features much more interesting cliff shapes and contains 3 main tile sets: WBC2 Dirt, WBC2 High Dirt and WBC2 Desert. This theme has become my favourite theme overall. I just love the merging of the 3 tile sets, the contrasting colours of yellow, brown and green, as well as admiring the interesting shapes formed by the cliffs.
Fun fact: this theme contains the highest quantity (and quality!) of Geomorphic tiles to date. That means the maps the RMG churns out for this theme will be so highly varied that you'll never see 2 maps of this theme even remotely close to being similar.
There's also been some general improvements to the random map generator to further variations in maps, as well as other, much needed, improvements such as a drastic speed increase to the generation stage (seriously - I can't express enough how fast the RMG is now for making maps. The "Matching Geomorphic tiles" is done practically instantly and even on a 1024x1024 map! Feature placing has sped up massively as well.)
