Even in its early days, Althas has been a land shaken by conflicts. In the early days, these conflicts pitted the Anointed Kingdoms of Men against the dark and demonic forces that threatened them. However, with the passage of time the world has changed. With the Anointed order eroding away and new powers rising, another war looms on the horizon, a war brought on by Man's own actions. Thenodar, a burgeoning new kingdom in the North, and Anorthile, one of the last of the three remaining Anointed Kingdoms, now prepare for a war that will shake all of Althas. Old demons and new enemies gather in the shadows of both lands as each sets their sights on the ruined wilderness known as the Feralands.

Awesome I wouldve liked that one or 11. 10 looks he's got a Skrillex look going on if oyu took away the scar. 7 looks very Greek or Roman-ish. 1's head hair looks like Ragnar from Vikings.

Yeah we will probably be using most of these designs elsewhere in Althas; the variety is really great.

Looks great. Make him blond and you'll have James Hetfield how he looked in the good ol' days. :D

6 matches Theotan's description perfectly in my opinion so great choice.

Now since these images make me think of character heads (I wonder why:P) I am quite curious as to whether it will be possible to have hair grow and whether characters will be able to accumulate scars? Not sure if you watch GoT but Tyrion gets a scare during the Battle of the Blackwater So something along those lines would be awesome but would clearly take time to develop so I wouldn't be too disappointed if such a feature was never included.

Also if such things do get included then the more dynamic they are the better they would be.

In the books he even gets half his nose chopped off.^^

I think both ideas would be kinda awesome but also very difficult to implement.
For example your ingame character will propably survive a lot more injuries than any real warrior would (even with all realism it's still a game) and thus he would have scars all over his body rather quickly. Though still worth thinking about that ideas some more I feel.

In that case I guess the main character would end up looking like Geralt :P

Although if such a system was implemented there should also be something to somewhat "reset" a character's scars for a price at the local temple/academy. But then such a system would be incredibly difficult to create and would require a fair amount of time. Maybe scripted events would still be feasible.

well, stuff like that would mostly be wasted ressources. LoA will be, as you may know, 1st person only, and even though you will be able to see your body (looking down/reflections) it would be such a rare situation that the time it would take to develop and the processing power (however small) can be used elsewhere.

Oh I didn't know LoA was going to be only 1st person...

Although such a system could still be used for NPCs. It's the only thing I like about WB's upcoming lotr abomination. Basically from what they said enemies could survive an encounter and make future encounters different. Of course knowing WB I expect it to be restrictive but the concept sounds pretty interesting.

Anyways that being said it's kind of a waste of time to develop a feature like that and Warhorse explained how devs have to resist from implementing too many features. It's an interesting read: Kickstarter.com They cover it under "Feature freak"

Is it possible to play a female character? I know that in the olden days women very rarely had any kind of adventure let alone engage in combat, but still.
