Inspired by XCOM and a legion of brilliant authors this game puts you in the shoes of the newly appointed Overseer of the SCP Foundation an extraterritoral organization charged to secure anomalous artifacts around the world, contain public knowledge, and protect the world's existence from the hazards these items possess. You must Secure. Find anomalous events and SCP entities. Customize your armed forces and research powerful new technologies. Dispatch task forces to lock down and retrieve it. Fight off others interested in the same prize. You must Contain. Suppress public knowledge of the events. Recruit governments, agents, and organizations to fund and support your goals. You must Protect. Build bases and secure areas to store anomalous items. Stop the spread of anomalous effects. Beware of dangerous containment breaches. As time passes the beginning hastens the end. Something nearly destroyed the Foundation once. It won't make the same mistake again.

I like it.
When you talk about Events having 3 stages, i hope there will be some method (Spyplane, satellite, agent-based recon, research or construction) that allows you to be able to "spot" events before they reach stage 3. So you can basicly try to get catch an event before it has been able to apply its full effect (offering perhaps a better mission loot, or less casualities on the civil pop, research bonus, whatever).

In addition, according to the three stages i think it would be pretty interesting if the area of effect or itensity of the event would increase with its stage it advances through.
So if you are able to somehow (either via RNG or helped by stuff from earlier) catch an event earlier, its influence is less severe.

Note i no idea what an event actually is.
Im thinking like sanctuary/warehouse13/fringe/alien here.

There will be ways to catch events before they go to stage 3. Overlays help you spot suspected areas of activity and you can send out special response teams to these areas if you deem it necessary. There will be benefits to catching them early but these have not been nailed down yet.

Its not implemented yet but events spread over time. If your agents take a long time to locate the event then the spread can be quite large and severe.

My explanation of events was lacking a bit. There are four main categories of events; SCP appearances, Anomalous Events, Red Herrings, and GoI events. SCPs are anomalous items that pop up and have to be secured before they cause damage or are intercepted by other groups. Anomalous events are unexplainable happenings that have to be controlled but don't generally yield artifacts. Red Herrings are strange but explainable events that can distract the player and waste resources. GoI events are caused by other groups interested in Anomalous items.
