The King of Bowtudgel's beautiful, redheaded, and obnoxiously thin daughter, Princess Carmeana, has been kidnapped and held ransom. The King, however, doesn't want to incur the expense of deploying the army, so he decides to recruit a "fairy boy" to go on the Glorious Quest to Rescue the Princess™.

Meanwhile, in the Flyover Province of Borringshire there lived a poor farm boy named Kai (pronounced "Lance"). One day he was trudging back to town after his morning threshing, when he encountered a fairy named Tabitha, and rescued her from another fairy who was force her to buy Facebook stock. Tabitha decided to tag along with Kai for awhile (it was the least she could do after Kai saved her from financial ruin).

As luck (or Destiny, depending on whether you believe Tabitha or Kai) would have it, they soon encountered an army recruiter who was looking for a "fairy boy". Kai's Glorious Quest to save the hot rich skinny redhead had begun.

(And that's where the demo ends.)

Steam Release

News

I would like to announce the imminent release of The Ditty of Carmeana on Steam. Release is expected later this month (April 2022). It will have about 5-6 times the content of the demo: new levels, new characters, new calculus lessons, new items, new enemies, and new fairy operating systems.

The demo will remain freely downloadable here, in case you want to relive this earlier incarnation of the game from a simpler time, when Rick-rolling was all the rage, MySpace was latest new trend in parody fodder, and Open GL was a fixed pipeline.
