Hello everyone,

It's been a while since we've had news to publish, and now that we did, they were reports of TI's untimely death.

And they were, unfortunately, not greatly exaggerated.

Limited by the Albatros :) of mictrotransactions chained to our necks, we missed our payments for the very costly server infrastructure one too many months, and our ISPs decided to shut the game down.

Now, we decided to make the best of the situation, which was to give us a couple of months of downtime to do massive maintenance on TI, and, in the meantime, run a crowdfunding campaign to enable us to come back in much more style than before.

This is what new TI (or TI:Reloaded) now looks like:

You'll have to allow the .gifs some time to load, they are pretty massive...but definitely worth a look. Most of this upgrade was done over the cause of more than two years by Pavle or "Defragen1", a multi-skilled Level Designer who also knows how to create particles, sounds and animations.

Improved gun animations, recoil, tracers...

... better shading...

... interactive / destructible objects, drastically improved clipping for smoother movement...

... hundreds of normal and specular maps improved and corrected...

... as well as pixel density and shadow quality drastically improved using cascading shadows.

Every single map has been overhauled technically, so the flow is better and the gameplay more focussed; also, we have given the game new shaders, so everything looks a lot better. All in all, we think the "new TI" is much too good to fail just because the "old TI" was such a mess... it just does deserve better. Hey man,

thank you very much - it's honestly a confidence boost to hear that.

Keeps us going for the last bit of the distance, after what was a very, very nasty race...

We have to survive the Kickstarter Campaign - and if we do, there is not much that can stop us. :)

I actually had alright, if a bit disappointing time playing the original Tactical Intervention. Super hyped for this!

My only concern is, will there be Australian servers this time round?

Definite YES for a much higher server density:

In contrary to the original release, we will enable dedicated server hosting for everyone / every region, including custom map creation + hosting.

So no more years long horrible ping experience :)...

And the rest of the experience should be much more pleasant now, too. Lol.

All we have to do is reach the campaign pledge goal, which turns out to be increasingly tough right now...

I had a lot of fun with this game and it had a lot of potential. It wasn't perfect but I had a blast with my friends in the car missions.

I hope you reach your goal, already put my grain of salt :)

It still isn't perfect :D.

However, we have fought so many of its demons that I can honestly say it's a solid, neatly working game by now.

Now that we got rid of the pretty horrible Pay-to-Win-concept, we might just be able to pull it off...

Hi Maggy,

You have no idea how huge that overhaul had to be, lol.

As we said many times before - TI was very broken on the initial release, and we are now almost where we want to be technically.

The list of bugfixes is more than 13 pages long, and we used a small font... ;)

And we were to blame for that.

We have allowed our investors to push us down a very bad path with the forced release of a BETA as a live game - and we got burned in the press for that.

Every bit of the criticism was justified, honestly, so all we could do was to fix as much of the game as possible.

We've still got work to do, namely with the cars and hostage models, but we've also come a long way, and we think the game deserves that second chance now.

We will upload some more footage these days to showcase what we've done with the game - and where we can take it!

I would suggest you change the name.

If this is the same game I remember, not only was it a really bad game (both gameplay and optimization were laughable), but it was also review bombed, and most people are unlikely to let that go.

As it looks now, this game looks really neat. I like the minuscule amounts of destruction and the seemingly actual use of tactics! I really do hope for the best for you guys.

Heya,

yeah, the name is toxic, that is true.

However - in our opinion, we have to bite that bullet, since the alternative would be to hide the "same game" behind a new name.

And we don't want to do that.

We'll just have to hope that people will give us a second chance and see the value behind the name for what it is! :)

PLEASE RELEASE THE LEVEL EDITOR SO WE CAN HAVE COMMUNITY LEVELS, and COMMUNITY SERVERS with a dedicated server, this game deserves to live for ever! you guys rock! please keep this game alive by allowing the community to host along side you!

I would love to design levels for this game, everyone I know loved the game, but they were turned off when we couldn't design levels, or host our own servers really a big let down, please release the Source SDK for it, I wanted to design a co-op campaign when I first got news of this game coming out but was real upset.

I don't know why people keep there games locked, like rare and 007 goldeneye, perfect dark, those games would still be the kings if they were just open to the community.

Hey man,

exactly.

Another one of the things we had to put up with due to the stupid design decisions investors asked of us.

Now that all of this dead weight is gone, we offer both:

- Our OWN SDK, the Mapkit

- And privately administrated dedicated servers.

We know how important both things are for a community, and we will definitely make them happen - IF we can reach our KS-goal...

Is the counter strike creator still in the team? I loved this game played it allot like 5 years ago.. Only the microtransactions were a real pain in the *** it really was pay to win.. pay allot..

Unfortunately, Minh has left the team.

But we're still on good terms personally since I guess we all know who was to blame for the failure back then, and it was neither him, nor the rest of the team of 2012/13.

The microtransaction system that was forced upon us was deadly - the worst possible way to market a game of this scope.

Well, it's gone now, and the rest of the game has changed from agonizing to amazing (at least that's our opinion, and we still have a long way ahead of us).

Drop the tracers. It looks silly. Small arms, smgs and rifles don't use tracers in combat. Only MGs
