An early look on the shape of things to come for the campaign game mode.

Hey there!
I've decided to post an update on a weekly basis, so even if I'm occasionally lacking in new screenshots, you'll still have an idea about what I'm currently up to.
So, here's what's happened during the first week since registering here on IndieDB:

Infection.

Being one of the core gameplay elements of the campaign, it is now mostly done. Each level is split into numerous sectors that can get infected by the viruses. It not only spreads, but infected sectors will periodically spawn more viruses. Hm!

Campaign update, Minimap, HDD status

More importantly, un-infected sectors are the key source for the player's health regeneration.
A big question emerges:
Can you afford to spend time completely clearing a level before heading on to the next one?

Your ultimate goal is to defeat the boss virus on the last level, but if you take too long with the earlier levels, the last one might be so infected that you won't leave its entry sector alive.

Exploration can be rewarding though, in the form of weapons and powerups to help you in your struggle.

There's also a shield
New feature: Shield

What's next?

The general direction for next week will be to add the first boss into the game, while also addressing other high priority things like adding item pickups and having doors between some of the sectors to better supervise the flow of enemies. See you next week!
