Survivors of Ragnarök is a city-building-management-survival game inspired by Dwarf Fortress. Manage, create, and survive through dynamic and deadly worlds. Losing is a fundamental core aspect of design.

Description

Please remember this is a very, very alpha release, Borderline pre-alpha. We release this in hopes we can share our progress every step of the way during development. There are still bugs and we know of a few, so if you find one, screen shot it, and send it our way so we can continue to make SoR better.

1 Dwarf pathing to pick up meat, AKA, the miner/builder, at the same time another dwarf gets hungry and paths to go eat the meat, AKA, the woodcutter, and does a complete program hang. Great concept though, and fun to play, specially once the bugs get thinned out and the crafting gets fleshed out a bit. Any chance of prioritizing the item splitting in the inventory, so more dabbling can be done with the crafting interface?

Perhaps some sort of food storage bin would be nice as well, might help counteract some of the food pathing issues.

Another bug that still occurs, mining underneath the fighter or woodcutter dwarves while they are tasked with eating or fighting leaves them stuck midair until you build back up to them via a ladder or other means, and sometimes items become untargetable, even if accessible, primarily trees and blocks. Woodcutter's pathing sometimes locks up, and being unable to mine under a block with food on it, instead of causing the food to drop, leaves it hanging in midair like the dwarf bug earlier. Just figured I'd pass this along, since alpha and beta builds are the time for playtester input. :D

Next build will be one of the largest yet. Debuging and Engine work is at the top of the list right now, lots of UI stuff too. This said it might be a a little while for the next update.

I know you all will enjoy it though, and I'm hoping that after the engine work is finished SoR will be able to run on a toaster... At 60 fps, maybe 1000.

Will that update go into Desura? I just bought and installed the Settler Edition and ... it doesn't do much. It loads but there's no actual game there. Just a dwarf standing around. It works less than the Chicken Edition.

Ha ha, funny start menu with chicken ^^.

Otherwise, what is (or will be) the goal of the game ?
I can't give my opinion without knowing it and because it's too much PRE-alpha ^^.
