Stranded And Bullets is a new ambitious 2D Sandbox RPG game. The game is going to feature large procedurally generated open worlds, where players can explore, settle, or leave for searching new adventures in space or other celestial bodies. You play as a lonely person, who has landed on a unknown planet far away from its home. You will have to find food, make yourself clothes, build a refugee, whatever you will expect from real survival on a unknown land. You can choose to explore the world you live in and live as a nomad, or you can choose to settle, grow yourself food, prepare your equipment, build vehicles and so on. Other players or NPCs will eventually come and visit you, and you will have to defend yourself, ally, raid and destroy. Eventually you will be forced to leave your home, to move to another location, or you will even be bound to leave the planet you live in. In space you will be able to create your own mobile base, or even a station inside an asteroid. NPC ships will eventually come near your position, be detected by your radars, and you will be able to choose if meet, raid, destroy or leave the strangers. It's all up to you and who knows where you can get and what you will find.
The game is currently in Early Stage, and there are not too much features to show, but there are a lot of
things planned. I'll post weekly updates about it's progression, then eventually demos will be released and
when it's partially ready, it will be released in Early Access.
Stuff that will be added in the next updates
Fell free to comment and give any advices. I'm curious on what you think about this project.
Hello guys, welcome to another weekly update article about Stranded and Bullets, my new 2D ambitious game. This week was a whole busy week, I have so many projects here and there, so many stuff to think of, but all this won't stop me on developing this game. Just started using some debugging tools that helped me a lot finding bugs and stuff to change and improve to reduce memory and CPU usage. Also improved a bit the collision checking system and started adding some basic stats to creatures like animals and players, that will give a more realistic experience and force the player to find food and take a break when its character it's too tired.
Last but not least I've started implementing some new shader effects, so that I'll be able to create lightning effects and day/night cicle on the planet. It's jsut a basic iteration of it, and it will need a lot of work to implement all the stuff, but in the end players will be able to place or use torches during night or in dark areas, shoot tracer bullets, and feel like at home in a planet where it's not always day.
That's all for this week, thanks for reading. If you are interested, follow this project, like it, share it, comment, suggest. I'm always curious on what community things about it. Stay tuned!
