With most of its crew missing and its weapons systems ruined the space research station Aegis is all but lost. As the last remaining pilot you must help rebuild the station’s defences, acquire alien technology and create your own uniquely configured set of fighters. By mining the asteroids within the grid dimension, valuable resources can be harvested to fuel the Aegis’ molecular furnace and build devastating weaponry. In the warp you will encounter allies to aid in your struggle to escape, uncover the terrible purpose of the evil Archnid race and learn why you and the rest of the crew were brought here.
Very good game. That is very shame, that no mods under it.
Definitely more than the sum of its parts; Starscape is a fun mix of Asteroids and strategy. It has a great blend of old school top down spaceship shooting coupled with the need to manage your mothership, as well as research and construct new ships and weapons with which to do battle against the evil aliens bent on wiping you out. The game also includes Instant Action missions and a Survival mode, which will really test how good your trigger and booster fingers are.
It pains me to see a gem like this overlooked by so many. It's such a simple yet addicting little game, and you could do much, much worse than to go give it a try. =)
