Our week in review, detailing the new content being worked on during the week.

Welcome to your weekend! Before you're off to your blissful days off of gaming, hobbies and socializing, and possible second jobs, we've got our brand new Week-In-Review feature being brought to you here.It's the week after releasing 0.5.7, and we all hope you're having a blast with the new update. Things we've been working on this week include a bunch of front-end changes and alterations, along with such back-end work like figuring out the biome distribution system.

We've been implementing a lot of sounds into the game, like footstep sounds, and gun sounds. We've been working on making different guns, different gun stats, sighting up guns and getting the recoil properly balanced. On the other side of that, we've also put in death messages into the game, and getting them working and reflecting the different death conditions properly.

We've also got some fantastic injections coming into the game. Literally, a whole slew of concotions that the player can inject themselves with, that will affect the player in a variety of ways, such as nourishment and health! We've also done some major overhauling of the block system as well, where you can read about it in-depth here: (http://starforge.typepad.com/starforge/2014/05/tech-feature-010-blocks-ii-.html).

One thing that you guys will be super pleased to know, is that we've been working on supporting dedicated servers, and creating the support necessary for running the game on a dedicated realm. That means the lobby menu we showed you a couple months back, will finally be seeing the light of day some point in the near future. We're really excited for that, and being able to elevate the multiplayer support for this game. We've also been working on object pooling and making sure everything is page-aware, thus preventing things like this from happening:

Now, in terms of what the artists have been up too, the concept art has been revealed to you, and now we're gonna show you the models! Oh man, it's getting really exciting here in Starforge. Some of the guns are really shaping up to be quite excellent.

If you look closely, we've tried to communicate a gritty realism to the Pistol, via way of textures. It's got a near rubbery, carbon-esque texture to it, and some hollowing out of the metal, to decrease weight in a very real and direct way, aesthetically speaking.

There's been a lot of exciting changes here at Code}{atch, now that we've expanded our team, by adding 2 programmers, an audio artist and a QA tester. They're all relatively in full swing for this upcoming update, and we're excited to be running such a large compliment of talent. The future is looking bright for Code}{atch and Starforge, we're just as excited as you are for the upcoming updates and the eventual release.

Will there be human Npcs to shoot with these guns, monsters get a bit boring to shoot after a while.

When I used to check the game forum, I've read about other game modes in which to battle others to defend the team spawn point (called 'VAT')
