StarFire was created with the intention to provide a tool to explore the depths of the universe and its secrets in a playful, educational, and thought-provoking manner. In order to do so, the player must design his spacecraft in such way it fits his individual needs and play style, and most importantly, withstands the dangers that linger in the dark. As such, StarFire implements models based on science, and may also cross the border between reality and the paranormal.

Wow. Does this mean players will be able to edit meshes ingame?

yup. This editor is primarily used for exterior and interior spacecraft hulls, and it can be used for various other purposes as well (think of item creation, weapon creation, terrain generation...) In fact I can implement export functions so you can use the models you create in 3D software. I can also make it behave similar to a voxel engine, but yet have to investigate what's best for the purposes I need.

So you basically get to create your own meshes and textures - in a way this is going to be a lot to be like 3D software, but I'm trying to make it more user friendly.

Description

Been a while since I last posted a video, so here's some progress on the mesh builder I've been working in the past few weeks. I'm directly modifying this mesh pane with the little panel at the bottom, very similar to what you're doing with 3D software. At the moment you can only move around the mesh points/vertices but more functions will follow soon.
