Hello everyone,

My name is Andrés, I'm an indie game developer (better known as @super16bits), and in the next articles I will write a little about my game, starexcess, for you. Hope you like it.

Name: Starexcess
Genre: SHMUP
Platform: WIN10, MAC(soon), LINUX(soon)

ART: @super16bits, CODE: @super16bits, MUSIC: @super16bits

I developed all the code, created the art, music, etc... all by myself. It took about 4 long years, and cost a lot of blood sweat and tears, but finally I'm here telling everyone that starexcess is ready for release.

Throughout this period, I learned more, I improved more, and today I can say that this is a game I'd like to play(and I've been really enjoying playing it these last few weeks).

The initial idea was to develop a nice SHMUP with levels that would enhance player's ability rather than wave memorization. To maintain a nice gameplay, each level has its own set of waves, but which waves will appear is chosen randomly.

At the end of each level, a BOSS waits to test players' skill.

Finally, the art inspiration came from Japanese sci-fi anime from the 80's and 90's, predominantly white fighter-shaped ships and more futuristic enemies.
