If I could suggest something concerning music, it might be good to build off of existing SW themes and heavily remix/edit them similar to how games like Force Commander and Demolition did:

These original works are still pretty neat, though!

Yeah I was thinking about that too actually, I might eventually do a song that has a bunch of the iconic Star Wars songs combined like the Rogue Squadron theme, Battle of Endor, Duel of Fates, Binary Sunsets, Imperial March, all mixed together into one song while still transitioning all of them with our own original themes added in.
There has been no official word yet on how we are going to do the music, rocknroll237 is in control of that. Dr. Doozer and him are working on the main theme, I just like to see what I can come up with on my keyboard and put it together, and see what people like and don't like. Usually, one of the other team members will make something and then I'll do a variation of it with my own style.

And yeah, maybe it would add a little more authentic Star Warsy feel if we took actual clips from the songs and then overlayed our original stuff over them or along them.

I love it, sounds star wars too me. I can just imagine listening to it while in Star Wars Battlecry's main menu. Keep it up!

I actually really like this. It's nice to hear some original Star Wars music.

I know that some folks want to hear more of the old Star Wars tunes in there, and that's all well and good, but I would advise that you not let that stop you from creating works like this... as it's quite good and fits into a Star Wars theme very well I think.

Excellent work. :)

sounds a bit like music from Shadow of the Empire.
But I think to make it more Star Wars-like you need some brass players.

Sounds like it's influenced by a dallop of Crysis, a sprinkle of Far Cry, and a dash of Dark Forces. Very swish nonetheless.

I would try and layer as much of the fine supporting instruments you can. I would say the light strings section softly accenting the background would just top that. Only constructive advice I can give otherwise all I can say is this stuff is well on it's way to becoming some real good stuff.

I think the writing is decent, but there just isn't enough of that Star Wars feel in it. There's some of it, but it could be a lot more prevalent. Production wise, the whole thing sounds quite midi'ish, not even close to the real thing, a lot could be improved midi-programming-wise. Just thought I'd chime in with some constructive criticism :)

I concur with you 100% it is midi programming too, you're good :) We unfortunately can't afford a real orchestra but we do have some music majors working on the music. A lot of the music team is busy in real life with school and work, so the musical pieces aren't progressing as quickly as we would like.
This piece is more or less just to get some ideas out there, and for me it was just fun to play and put together.
If I had the money to afford some of those nice expensive libraries I would buy them and get crackin on the music. Thanks for the criticism too, criticism in my eyes is important in keeping the quality high.

You should do two themes, one that's orchestral, and then one that has electric guitars in it. Like with Halo 2, there was the main theme, then the Mjolnir Remix.

Here's another concept piece that I think turned out better than the one I originally did, like everything it's still WIP. But we are kind of starting to figure out a general direction for what we want, and hopefully what you guys want. :)
