You are lost. Alone. Searching for yourself. You don't see far. In fact, you see nothing at all. But you hear things... drops; water flowing; rocks falling, rolling... and a bell. Souvenirs is a 2D platformer where you don't see the environment directly. You have to use sounds to get a glimpse of your surroundings.

There are important things that can't be avoided in platformers.

While playing Souvenirs a few months ago, I suddenly felt it was missing something. Something important. Something everybody loves in platformers. Disappearing blocks, those cute little things. Who hasn't spent hours watching them, appreciating their simple timing, staying calm and patient. I love them so much, that there are 2 types of disappearing blocks in Souvenirs. Those that hide when you make noise and those that show when you make noise. You can see them both in the short video above along with the "crystal" tile set.

During the past weeks I've been working on :
- adding a new tile set;
- adding character animations;
- finishing the hint system;
- bug fixing and code refactoring.

If you've got questions or feedback let me know in the comments.

You can support the game on Greenlight and on twitter.

There was music in the game but I removed it for the moment. I would like to go with ambient sounds only (we will see how it'll turn out). I just uploaded (in the video section) a music composed by Aurélien Fossard for Souvenirs. It was 4 tracks that could be turn on and off by the game based on which part of a level the player was.

I have listened it and it could be a nice idea for the game!

Anyway I sent you the message with the soundcloud link if you want to listen what I did.

I would like to see how the game and sound are going to work together!

Thank you and I expect news of the game!

If you think about it...it's kind of creepy.
