Situated within a simplistic and intentionally preposterous scifi-horror premise, "SNAILS" is intended to recreate the style and appearance of late-1990's-era PlayStation games, culminating in such telltale characteristics as low-resolution display, pixelated textures, low-polygon characters and objects, limited draw distances, cheesy pre-rendered cinematics with horribly unrefined primitives, and a complete lack of perspective-correction. Assuming the role of 7 year-old Dora Ditze, you awake from recently recovered case of the flu, only to discover that the city in which you reside has fallen foul to an interstellar breed of enormous space slugs, intent on devouring everything in sight. Operating from a third-person perspective, you'll battle your way through infested yards, school grounds, and recreational parks en-route to hopefully obtaining temporary solace from these space-faring nightmares.

Description

The depicted cinematic sequence plays whenever the user starts a new game, prior to the commencement of level 1.

Similar in style to many PS1-era pre-rendered cutscenes, the cinematic is characterized by unrefined primitives, blocky characters, stiff animations, and rather sketchy surroundings.

This flawed and simplistic approach is intentional, attempting to emulate as closely as possible, the appearance of a moderately produced 90's-era PlayStation game.
