Shadows of Doubt is a stealth detective game set in a fully-simulated neo noir city. There's been a murder and it's up to you to solve it by any means necessary, with the condition that you keep a low profile. A unique mix of procedural generation and hand-crafted design enables every room of every building to be explored. Citizens go about their lives independent of the player as you watch from the Shadows, in search of crucial information.

I've started recording video updates to share the recent progress on my detective stealth game: Shadows of Doubt.

I've decided to switch over to a video format to document my development blog! It seemed more exciting to do so as the game's at a point now where I can record something like this while looking fairly presentable. And even at a couple of minutes long, with a picture being worth 1000 words, this right here is actually one of my longest development blogs yet!

Anyway, here's the first video that talks about my approach to generating scripted missions within the world of Shadows of Doubt which is all procedurally generated. Hopefully, it's interesting stuff with some exciting implications.


Here's the second, which talks about my UI design and how it's effectively like designing a set of detective tools for the player. Plus you can draw moustaches on people!


I plan to make these videos a regular fixture of my development process, so I hope you enjoy them and look out for more coming your way soon!
