The game's changing gears with the new combat system under way. The slower paced RPG gameplay is going to be speeding up. Changes to story-telling, inventory, and other minor gameplay elements have been my goal in the last few weeks, to match the new fast paced, action combat.
This short video shows a brawl between a few low level melee fighters and the player, who uses a knife and her gravity slam power. As you can see, there are a few quirks and issues with animations that I plan to clean up, but I'm happy to see a semblance of chaos and tension in the combat... Dodge rolling just before getting whacked over the head felt exactly how it should have.
My goal, for now, is to get all the weapons working with the new combat, and then follow that up with getting all the enemies working.
I'm retconning a previous announcement... There will be one more public demo, showcasing the combat and a sizable portion of the game world, at the end of February.
