Seek: Light Through Darkness is an indie survival horror game played from a first-person perspective. A game inspired by titles such as Amnesia, Outlast, Skyrim and Cry of Fear, where exploring environments and avoiding monsters is key. The game is developed in Unreal Engine, and is currently only available for Windows.
MY RATING OF THIS GAME IS 10/10 BUT FOR NEW MEMBERS 8 IS MAXIMUM.
This game is absolutely amazing! Recently I decided to review three indie horror games and put this game as third in my list. I thought that this game is gonna be a trash. HOW STUPID I WAS!.. So let's jump to review:
Positive sides: (GET READY TO HEAR ABOUT MANY POSITIVE SIDES!)
Atmosphere of slow descending into story of the game. After playing a lot of Slender-like fast-pacing FPS-like game I was sick of of all them. This one gave me what I was looking for a half of year.
Music is... like... from Amnesia? and Penumbra? Really, I've no idea but it really does sound like that. Idle music is brilliant! About action music... I can say just one word. Good one.
Puzzles is also a good side of project. Physics-related puzzles, exploration. It's not like - once again! - collecting pages or toys. It's not like collect 9 things to win. It's really intriguing story.. But about who?
TO PREVENT SPOILERS I WON'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
Now it's time about minuses: (ONLY ONE I COULD FOUND. Maybe it's not a MINUS)
I found only one minus. It's... running.... It's about stamina.
From my review I found that We can run for 6 seconds. Then We need 7 seconds to regenerate stamina. Yes, maybe it's good - I love hardcore games.
BUT NOT SO HARDCORE! Anyway I'd be nice to see difficulty in the menu.
So this IS THE ONLY ONE BAD THING I COULD FIND IN THIS GAME.
It's alpha. It's Free. It's excellent. It's not about a couple of levels connected with stupid script or scenario. It's good story! And I want to get know who or what is standing behind it! Download it! Support developers! I want to buy it!
A beautiful game with amazing graphics and maps. Well thought out structure and story. I greatly enjoyed this game and I hope you create more!
