Flap jack is a procedural ocean game that combines linear progression mechanics of eating and getting bigger and stronger, with the Metroid like thrill of getting rare new body parts and special abilities! There haven't been many underwater fish games, especially in recent memory, we want to change that. We sorta think fish could be the ultimate game experience and they just make sense for a video game. Fish are relatively simple, have a lot of character considering their face to body ratios, are universally recognizable and most importantly, fish and ocean exploring are just flat out fun!

More art and a focus on getting this thing playable

Posted by on

Trying to get in the habit of posting here more often. Got a good bit more art done including this turtle that i'm pretty stoked with!

As for development, things are a little rocky, we're pretty green as a whole so taking these first few steps towards a playable alpha is a bit rough. Hopefully things go smoothly enough and no one on the team has a mental breakdown as we're all passionate about getting this game started and finished, but also very individually invested in how things should go forard :P. The joys of having an open and communal indie team!

Anyway, back to the grindstone... have a lot of sealife finished up... it's time to do up some more environment arts.
