A completely fan-made environment in the image of the Sword Art online Anime Series. This is simply a project I am doing alone to test my coding skills and to show others what I think an SAO game would be like if a proper developer had to put time and resources into making it. This is by no means meant to be an actual game, rather it is a 3D environment depicting how i would want an SAO based game to be. Disclaimer: I do not own Sword Art Online at all, those rights belong to the author of the light novel, Reki Kawahara, and the producer of the Anime, A-1 Pictures. Due to certain copyright rules and other things beyond my control, I will be slightly altering the interface as to not completely copy SAO and risk any issues/problems arising...

Hey everyone, it sure has been a while.

For those of you that have been following the initial posting of my game-project-thingy you will have noticed that i have been inactive for a long time. The reason for this is two-fold.

First:

I started the project using Unity 4.6 and everything was going really well, I had demos and everything. However, when Unity 5 was released my project files did not work well anymore. The terrain and textures was buggy and looked hideous. I spent about a solid week trying to get all the problems fixed but then the second reason got in the way of everything and I had to ultimately stop developing the project (temporarily, until reason 2 is over with)

Second:

The second reason is the big reason. I started Varsity (BSc Computer Science) and my life got very busy very quickly. My course also has a few programming modules (obviously) and I started to rethink how I had coded most of my game-thingy, so I made a decision to wait till my Degree is done so that I can use my acumulated knowledge to ultimately make a better game which will result in making all of you happier as well.

So there you have it. In a nutshell: expanding my coding knowledge then continue developing.

In the meantime, I am currently working on a simple 2D game that I am putting some of my current newly aquired skills into and will probably post that on indieDB too in the near future. So if you are eager to support me and in the end my SAO-FanProject I could really use your criticism on my other project to better my skills before I tackle this project properly.
