Demo Overview

The demo is fairly expansive and offers 3 modes all of which log their own Best Time. Let's go through them one by one!

New Game

The main mode of the Demo, these are the first 10 levels of the game.

Starts and ends with a cutscene!

There are plenty of alternate paths that you can use to get through this mode a lot quicker. Most people trying out the game at Conventions get through it in between 10 - 20 minutes, my personal record is 1 minute, 45 seconds. How fast can you get through it?

Challenge Mode

Accessible from the Main Menu, Challenge Mode cranks up enemy AI and presents a single Gauntlet level with its own Best Time.

Average time for this one is around 5 minutes for just 1 level! At the Enthusiast Gaming Live convention, one player managed to do it in just 46 seconds, nearly breaking my record of 43 seconds.

New Game Plus

Last but certainly not least, New Game Plus starts you on the last level and tasks you with playing the whole game in reverse.

One-way light barriers prevent you from taking certain paths

While designing the game I made sure that every level was playable forwards as well as backwards. Possible, but not necessarily easy. This mode is sure to provide quite the challenge to anyone who has completed both other modes. And just so you've got a time to beat, my personal record is 1 minute, 6 seconds.

Until next week!

Next week I'll be talking a bit more about New Game Plus, as well as going over the Release Notes of an updated Demo. Follow us on IndieDB to stay in the loop and follow me on Twitter for more frequent updates!
