Set in a dystopia; a future of surveillance and oppression. Complex weapon handling & detailed weapon customisation is what makes this multiplayer FPS different.

Post news Report RSS Release will happen - after DEAL

It's been a long time since I have posted an update on Relock, and I can say that it has been a long hard road to get the game to where it currently is. Relock isn't complete - but I have made some huge progress. I hope to be able to make some posts soon with more detail.

There were certain features of the game that were required in order to complete the overall experience. These features were not finished which is why there hasn't been a release.

I have been working on much larger commercial projects which has allowed me to grow as a developer. With this experience comes a new perspective on how I can complete these missing features of the game and finally get it out there - to be played by like 20 people (if I'm lucky).

The core gameplay mechanics are the same, the content and assets may differ from what has been posted previosuly; but that is expected with any game in development.

Frankly I had lost all my hopes in this project, good to hear that it's still alive. I know it's hard to get motivation, but rest assured there are a plenty of people who would like to play this game, specially Receiver fans.

I also can't wait to get my hands on a copy of the game. I discovered Relock through the Wolfire Receiver Forums some time in 2013, and I've been following its progress ever since. I'm glad there's gonna be a release, however long it takes.

In addition to what I said above, the steady rise of VR and allowing people to have much more control of weapons in games generally put a mental brick wall up for me while working on this project.

Now that I realise that it's a completely different experience, despite the similarities - Development will continue.

Yes, while they may sound similar, they are different experiences. Also keep in mind that vr isn't that accessible yet for all people.
