Reggae Speed is essentially a Driving/Racer genre Game, but it uses Carts instead of Cars and is set on a Jamican ambient in which the Player drives a Sled Cart with wheels. It features strong Gameplay Mechanics and Philosophy, an Intuitive Control System and a Physics Based Driving System to create a Game you won't forget you Played!

As I'm sure Jan has already told you, we recently converted our Engine from ShiVa to Unity, for a whole bunch of reasons (check out this post to see the full details). However, progress is still going strong, which leaves me to introduce our newest members of the Team. In the last post, we mentioned Malcolm joining the Team, to assist Todd with the creation of Environmental Models.

But, after our conversion to Unity, we just received and accepted applications for two extremely talented Modellers, Lucas and Eric. Jan has worked with them on previous projects, they are some of the most dedicated Modellers that we have seen, and you can expect to see some of their work in our Gallery on our website at Biomass-studios.com.

Also, since our team has expanded a lot in the last few days, Lead Programmer Jonathan has been given Project Manager position by Jan.

We plan to make one of these 'Working Towards Beta' posts every week or so, pointing out exactly what we've accomplished during that week. That way, you know what you're getting from the Game, and you can see us making Reggae Speed, every step of the way. Obviously, we've recently been rewriting the entire Game in Unity, but we've made substantial progress:

  • Most internal, core Framework converted to Unity.
  • First basic UI Prototype Completed.
  • Began Prototype Game Save/Load.
  • Began Main Menu Implementation.

Check back in a few day's time to check out our progress!
