Red Alert: A Path Beyond brings the exciting storyline and epic clashes from the classic Westwood Studios game, Command & Conquer: Red Alert to realm of first person shooters, with a twist. We've remained loyal to the style and feel of the 1996 classic, while integrating content from its expansions Counterstrike and The Aftermath with a bit of updated history to add to the mix. Built off the W3D engine Westwood Studios built for classics such as Earth & Beyond and Command & Conquer: Renegade finished up in 2001, we help bring the fight to you as you play out your role as any one of a number of infantry classes participating in team-based combat that often involves land, sea, and air combined-arms clashes that just don't happen in any other game. Oh, and did we mention it's FREE?

We're just about done with the next version. It has several balance changes that we'd like to test in larger groups with a more varied set of players. Join us for open testing so we can do a last minute check before finalizing the 2.1.2 release.

Here's a chance to help us do some final balance testing and bug-checking for the upcoming 2.1.2 version. It's got some important changes we'd like to review with the general public before a formal release. Read the changes here, then read the instructions and install the files over a copy of your APB 2.1.1 installation. Post in our open testing subforum if you've got questions or comments, and keep an eye out for scheduled tests. We'll probably have one the weekend of June 9th.

It's the final stretch before the new build, which runs much nicer than before and has several key improvements and enhancements. If things look good, there's no reason why we couldn't immediately package up installers after testing's done and final fixes are made.

Primary things to check:
-Building damage notification adjustments exist and function on each map
-Tech 1 infantry available for purchase without barracks on all maps
-Tech 1 infantry availability balance impact
-Tesla Coil attack pattern adjustment balance impact
-"45 minute Memory leak" no longer occurs
-Hind balancing (vs. Longbows, Bases, Defenses)
-C4 balancing (Tanya & Engineer C4 vs. Bases, Defenses, MCTs)
-Flare balancing (Damage + Disarm rates)
