Co-operative survival shooter Raw Data from Survios has launched today on Steam Early Access for the HTC Vive. Though we’ve written extensively about Raw Data before, this is the first time the game is finally playable to the public outside of VR showcase events.
Raw Data tasks players with surviving waves of robotic enemies by taking them down with pistols, shotguns, laser swords, bows, and kinetic abilities. The Early Access launch includes two playable characters, each with different abilities which allow them different play experiences.
In a launch interview with Road To VR, Survios hints that two more playable characters are to come over the course of the game’s time in Early Access. In fact, the developer’s roadmap provides a solid guide as to what to expect, including new abilities, changes to the way you move around the level, new missions and enemies, as well as new deployable defensive turrets.
Raw Data can be purchased from its Steam store page with its current 20% launch discount for US$31.99. Survios aims to have the full launch version of Raw Data ready by the end of the year. Though currently exclusive to the HTC Vive, due to the requirement of motion tracked controllers, Survios’ CCO James Iliff says that Oculus Rift support isn’t off the table completely.
