Our players find themselves in a close-quarters co-op battle against intelligent enemy AI as they slash, shoot, duck and dodge in an environment rich with interactive and destructible objects. Road To VR
recently went hands-on with Survios’ upcoming co-operative first-person VR shooter, Raw Data, and captured some gameplay highlights above. Raw Data is a game that Survios describes as utilising its concept of “Active VR”, in that you need to perform physical movements to undertake actions that would usually be accomplished with a button press.

For example, this means you switch to your energy sword weapon by reaching over your shoulder and “drawing” the sword from its sheathe. You also reload your weapons by bringing them down your waist, as though you’re slamming another clip in.

In this new gameplay video we get a first glimpse of some brand new features that play off the active VR design. The first is a simple bullet time power-up, which slows time to a crawl and allows you to line up an instant-kill headshot, or gives you time to switch to the most appropriate weapon. The second is a gravity gun-like ability that allows you to pick up and throw robots as physics objects.

We also see a new, outdoor environment for the first time – one much larger than the indoor factory, and one that apparently allows you to move around it with a short-range teleportation function. Finally, we see the ability to place defensive turrets around the level that will help to fend off the increasingly difficult waves of enemies.

Raw Data will be available on Steam Early Access on July 14, and is set to be released sometime later this year for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. The game will require motion controllers, and will support the Oculus Touch.
