CYBERPUNK HORROR PSYCHROMA FLASHES INTO EXISTENCE

Psychological side-scroller tells a dystopian futurist ghost-story through a queer lens.

Toronto, Canada -- June 11th, 2022-- Rocket Adrift (Raptor Boyfriend: A High School Romance, Order A Pizza) announces their new psychedelic horror side-scroller, Psychroma.

This narrative pixel art side-scroller is taking part in the Future of Play Direct Showcase on June 11th, 2022 1:00 pm EST where it will debut with a teaser trailer and Steam Page.

It has already won second place in the Big Digital Indie Pitch, as well as honorable mention in the Ubisoft Indie Series Presented by National Bank.

Psychroma is a story-driven psychological horror game where you play as a digital Medium who awakens mysteriously in a haunted cyberpunk commune.

Experience hauntings from the ghosts of the past residents while searching for an escape through exploration of space and time. Use a set of digital tarot cards containing the memories of the ghosts to navigate the house and unlock disturbing new details about what happened there. Play as a Non-binary, mixed-race protagonist as you uncover the relationship between a trans woman and her disabled lesbian partner.

The third installment of Rocket Adrift's games is an exercise in exploration through non-linear time, queerness, and empathy through horror.

Psychroma will be Rocket Adrift's third game. In 2021, the three-person Toronto-based team released their second game Raptor Boyfriend: A High School Romance to Steam and Itch.io , which was nominated for Best Art Direction and Best Animation for the 2022 Canadian Indie Game Awards. In 2019, Rocket Adrift developed Order A Pizza: A Visual Novel for Itch.io's Nan0Ren0 game jam within the month of March. It currently stands at over 7,000 downloads and was a part of the Racial Justice and Equality bundle, the largest Itch.io bundle in history.

Psychroma is slated for release on Windows/Mac Q4 2023 with plans for release on all major consoles. It will be available for Steam wish list on June 11th, 2022. Psychroma is made possible with support by Weird Ghosts and Gamma Space.
