ok for the next mini update i put in a better error message that lets you know you need to launch from the projectvisitor.com webpage and not by double clicking the exe.
so the login/crash thing is caused by trying to launch from the exe.
goto www.projectvisitor.com
create an account (its free)
usually has you relog after creation
then you see a launch button, if game is installed launching will bring up the patcher
and then the patcher launches the game, if it patches, then it waits for you to hit the
launch button on the patcher (so you can read the patch notes).
if when doing this you get db authentication failed, relaunch from webpage. usually its because the browser either cached an old login ticket or prevented access, usually fixes on relaunch.
Also I updated the website with the correct directx location on the microsoft site (apparently it had moved) I saw the post by "theagain" that has the correct location. I changed it on the Projectvisitor.com
webpage so it too has the right version.
As with any online game, please check firewall settings, if your using zone alarm you have to put in an expception for both the pvpatcher.exe and the projectvisitor.exe
the game uses ports above 15000.

Couple things, one you have to launch from the webpage, you cannot launch by double clicking projectvisitor exe.
You have to create an account on www.projectvisitor.com,, its free. Then on your member page
you will get a LAUNCH button to launch the game.
You have to have installed the game first.
The browser will try to open a *.pvl file, if your browser asks you what to do with the file say "OPEN" the patcher will grab it, patch the game, and launch it for you.
Windows 8 has driver problems and although the game runs, the frame rate is horrible, we are working with nvidia to try and figure it out. Win7, winxXP, etc works fine.
If your still crashing on login, please send me more details about your machine and how you are launching the game so I can work with you guys to fix it, thanks.
really hope this gets corrected soon. im waiting for this win 8 fix badly.
This has been corrected, not only does it run but on windows 10 it gets an even better frame rate then before. Grab the latest installers and check it out.
You have to log into the www.projectvisitor.com website with your newly created account. On your member page will be the LAUNCH button that you use to launch the patcher, the patcher will then launch the game for you. If you get authentication failed, relaunch from the web page again.

been playing as long as i can remember .guranteed hours of fun if you can put together a clan . can;'t get enough sometimes !!!!!!
