Project Float Update #1
This is a pretty large update telling you guys about the progress of Project Float and other important news involving the game. Ok, well if you haven't noticed the platforms have been updated to include iPhone so yeah, this is my formal announcement of the iPhone version of the game, which will be a slightly different game then the ones available on your computer. Now, I will tell you what I need to in based on categories so you can choose what you want to read based on the bold category names.
Price Drop
The price was originally planned to be $10 for standard and $20 for deluxe with the price being cut off just for pre-order, but now we've decided to keep the prices where they are at. So, Project Float will be $5 ($15 for deluxe) from now on. No price increase will be added once the game has been released. Speaking of the price of Project Float...
Available for Pre-Order
Project Float is available for pre-purchasing at both 8BitFunding and Indievania. 8BitFunding allows for more perks and additional content based on how much you "donate", but Indievania is recognized as an actual purchase and it will continue to send you updates of the game. If you *do* purchase the game at either one of those sites you will eventually need to make an account on Project Float's website. This isn't completely necessary right now at 1.2, but in a future update it will force you to login before playing.
Updates no longer given to non-purchasers
There will be no further updates given to those who haven't purchased the game and those who have purchased the game, your updates will no longer *just* consist of the first world. I will give you basically all that I have at the time of releasing a "beta" update. Note: these updates will just be sent out and there will be inconsistencies between levels and other problems.
Free Version of Project Float entitled 'Project Steam'
For those of you who are unable to purchase Project Float either because you are unable to pay by paypal or you just don't feel like paying for this game... Well, you're in luck! Aside from Project Float we will also be working on Project Steam, a free "flash" version of Project Float. It will star 'Buddy', the main character of Project Float, but in a future story.
Story Plot: Buddy, in charge of the island, is noticing a lot of the machines are running out of energy and with them being on a floating island there isn't many means of creating energy. So, Buddy stumbles upon unfinished blueprints of an ever-lasting energy source dating back in the 1800's. He then creates a time machine and goes back into the steampunk era. (yes, I'm aware that era is fictional, can we continue?) So, it is your job to find the creator of this blueprint and help him finish what he was unable to before in order to save your island!
Interested in making Playthrough Videos of Project Float? (And getting free story mode updates?)
If you want to make videos of you playing Project Float you just may temporarily receive free updates of the entire story mode in order to make a full playthrough. How do you be a part of this you ask? Well, you have to do a couple things first. First, you must at least have videos of the first two levels in the demo. The videos must contain either a link to projectfloat.com or to this PF's Moddb page and credit given to BlueSky Games for creating the game. Secondly, you must have an account on projectfloat's main site and then try to join the group "Project Float Play-through" here.
