It's been a while since I've released a new post or any sort of update on the development of this game so, I'm going to cut the crap and get straight to the details.

Project Float 1.3.4
This new update will include several bug fixes that will make your gameplaying experience much more enjoyable, but besides the fixed glitches this new update will also change the look and feel to the game. The backgrounds are now different for each world and have been painted in photoshop. There's quite a lot more to the update so, I think I'm just going to let you guys read the current changelog:

Additional Sound Effects

Removed:
Q,W,E Debug Keys in some levels. (Still not all gone)

New Updated Demo
So, it has recently been brought to my attention that I did not include a demo version on Desura for this game. I was going to add the 1.2 Alpha demo, because that was the latest free demo I had released. Before I had planned to stop releasing new updates of the alpha as an incentive to get people to purchase the full version, but now I realize that with every alpha update the game usually changes drastically and by people trying out an older demo they are not fully experiencing what Project Float could be. So, to make a long story short... I will now be releasing updates for the free demo. These updates will mainly just include bug fixes and whatever graphical changes are made to the first world.

This new updated demo will be limited to only the story game mode and in that mode you will be able to play the first two levels and the boss in the first world. These updates will usually come after the paid versions have been updated, mainly because it takes a while for me to add all these new features to the demo version of the source file.

Project Float is coming close to Official Release!
Yes. After all this time I can gladly state that Project Float is coming close to its final "Alpha Update". This upcoming 1.3.4 will not be the final update but one of the last ones. After just a bit more then a year the game is finally in a state where I just need to finish off some levels and polish up. Although, by saying I'm almost done I mean with the story mode. The first official release will probably include just the Story Mode and Zombie Survival. While all other promised game modes are continued in development. So, of course, after the game in it's core is released the game will continuously grow in size. Even past what was originally promised. So, I hope you guys purchase the game and enjoy it while you and I watch this game grow.

So, to conclude this long news post. Don't forget to purchase Project Float's alpha:
Desura Digital Distribution.
OR.. You can try out the 1.2 Alpha Demo if you don't want to wait for the 1.3.4 demo.

The game is interesting, but as far as I've seen, conversations just drop off at a letter, the controls are way too floaty for combat. if you want to know how to base physics, just look at Oniken, also made in MMF.

And kudos on making something my crappy lappy can handle. I'm assuming the game is in waaay beta. Keep up the good work.

When I download the demo it tries to start the Project Float.exe instead of the Project Float Demo.exe.

The Controls are as a previous comment stated, quite floating, in a bad way, maybe try to copy the acceleration curves from mario games?
This combined with the fact that enemies like snails are very unforgiving when it comes to precision, not a good factor, I would make the stomping of snails more forgiving.

I'd also like support for higher resolutions than 640x480, even just stretching it would be fine, though, higher resolution graphics would obviously help.

Well, I like the idea of having a decent rpg + plattformer, so I'm cheering for you to solve these issues and will be sure to check back on this project in a while. :) good luck

Yes. I'm working on making the engine less floaty and the snail problem. It can go up to fullscreen, but is there any windowed resolution that you'd might want to add?

I guess it's called Project Float because that's how it controls. Seriously, nothing about this game seems the least bit professional. The camera can never keep up with the action, the "subtle" nods to other video games feel just stolen, nothing is aesthetically pleasing, the platforming looks incredibly bland, the levels looked poorly designed. Ever the guy making the video couldn't go two feet without getting hit.

Thanks for the feedback. I will try and fix some of the things you've brought up.

Why does this have to have another freaking Portal reference in it? >_> Those are so overdone.

Everything else looks very interesting.

Another? I added another one? Well, yes. Portal is an inspiration, but I'm trying to make it it's own game and story.

Oh, portal references are everywhere, it's to the point where they actually make me kind of angry, but I looked at the inspiration list in one of your videos and I guess there's nothing objectively wrong with getting ideas from multiple places.

Still looks really interesting though.

Yeah I have had a cake is a lie shirt since before it got way overused now I'm not such a huge fan of my shirt and can't wear it because the reference is too overdone and it gets quite cold in the winter without a shirt.

Also the game looks like it could be fun but not buy without try demo fun.

Theres a demo on the Moddb version of this page. An older version of the beta though. So, it isn't as polished as the current purchasable version.

Who cares? The developer[s] can make the game how they want. Who cares if it makes you angry? As far as I know the game doesn't have racial/hateful comments or anything like that. Chill out. I haven't played or looked at the game but its one that has my attention.

Keep up the work Dev. Just remember to keep a vision and don't get caught up in stuff that will keep the game stuck.

Why did you respond to my comment as if it were meant to be hostile? I said it looked interesting, quit being a ****.
