Description

Probe is a 2D block breaker featuring arcade shooter elements and a modern spin on the popular retro game. Destroy all the data blocks and galactic enemies in each zone using only your probes, bullets and power ups but don't lose your probes to the void.

History

After many setbacks of trying to break into the indie game dev scene via failed teams and cancelled projects, Nathan Hicks of Nate Bit Games set out to create his own first solo project. Inspired by classic retro arcade hits like Galaga and Space Invaders but with an added twist combing elements of those games and that of classic block breakers. Development of Probe started over the 2019 holiday season as a hobby project while Nathan worked a full time day job. Eventually the economy shut down due to COVID-19 in March 2020. Unemployed, the development was able to become a full time project until it's release on April 14th, 2020 with continued updates and fixes on into late summer of 2020. While it's official release was in April, it's final state is still changing in terms of aesthetics but should be 100% done by late August 2020.

About Nate Bit Games

Boilerplate
Nate Bit Games is currently comprised of one solo developer, Nathan Hicks. I strive to make new unique indie gaming experiences with new twists and combinations of classic genres or by just trying to create something new all together. I enjoy the player community involvement in the development of my games and often take suggestions and make them a reality while still trying to be as innovative and balanced as possible. Right now I consider myself a game dev hobbyist but my goal is to continue to grow my skills and experiences and eventually be able to move into making even larger scope games full time in the near future.
