Polarium is an abstract puzzler with a simple premise. You must guide a glass cube along a set route of black and white tiles, whilst polarising the background to protect the cube from being destroyed. This intense and rapid gameplay mechanic, revels in the same class as classic SHMUP Ikaruga, but has the pacing of slower, cerebral games such as Portal.

The fact that news travels fast, is often an understatement.

Exactly two hours after the first Alpha was released across Desura, two video reviews appeared on YouTube, I was swamped by emails asking for Playtesting access and the Polarium overall rating peaked at 9.8 across IndieDB and it's related networks.

We still only have five backers over at our Kickstarter project, but to be honest, I think we were being a little too enthusiastic at this stage to really hope of smashing our target of 30K.

So, where are we now?

Well, after our game rating has now settled at around 7.8, we're looking at deploying Alpha 1.0.3 by Friday afternoon(ish). And (hopefully), the Mac and Linux versions will follow the Windows update by that time too. We know Linux users in particular are looking for more quality outings for their beloved platform, so we hear you folks. Team wise, we finally recorded the fifth Narrow Monolith Podcast in over a year! It was weird talking about The Tower over a year after it was released, but there we are! Week three then, should be very interesting...

Ciao for now.
