It is the year 2287, one of the first colony ships sent out by Earth arrives at the planet Maria, in the Epsilon Indi Star System. During its landing sequence, something appears in front of the massive ship that causes it to lose control and crash into the planet. Some of the colonists survive in lifeboats, but what they find is an unforgiving land filled with creatures ready to outlast the visitors from Earth. Now the survivors must explore, gather, build, create, fight, and ultimately, conquer the land.

We're also releasing a new build in Alpha 0.52. If you've already downloaded A0.51, then you probably don't need to download this version. This version adds a camera sensitivity slider controls as well as many minor bugs.

You can get the torrent here: Pathea.net

You can download directly from here: Indiedb.com

The bigger news is that we've put Planet Explorers on Steam Greenlight, so please help the game get on Steam! Steamcommunity.com

It is independent developers like you guys, who will eventually dominate so called 'AAA' developers out there with your unique and innovative creations.
The craziest part about this specific game is you have allowed it to be downloaded freely in it's alpha state (which looks amazing btw!).
Keep up this awesome work, and you guys will be making millions one day and be highly respected amongst the gaming and games development community :)

looks good, nothing like mass slaughtering the innocent inhabitants of a peaceful planet, pillaging the land, and building our crude machinery/structures all over the place. But i guess you need to have some sort of a game :P you got my vote

I've voted also! But you raise a good point. Is there going to be any way to peacefully exist on the planet, and yet still proceed through the gameplay/plot? Suppose you don't want to kill everything you see, or even anything? Will that be possible?

Yeah, in the final game you can play the game as a pacifist (we explained in that wall of text on Greenlight), we're just doing the combat stuff first because more people will play it this way.

Oh, that's great news! Very glad to hear it. Games that allow pacifist play are generally much deeper than those that do not. Yours is shaping up to be quite deep, so I would've been surprised if players couldn't play peacefully.

Thanks for the answer! :)

Excellent as usual! However, I'd just like to ask a question: can we keep our save games from older releases? Or are new versions savegame-incompatible with one another?

Safe thing to say is starting with a0.6. But we're trying to include the a0.5 saves as well.

Voted for it too.

Works great so far, way better than the 0.4 version. However, one little complain so far: The ammo for ranged weapons is automatically detached when switching to a melee weapon or tool (shovel, axe etc). Which is a little uncomfortable, as one requires one more slot and always having to re-equip the ammo in order to use the weapon. Not very nice when you get attacked by surprise and quickly want to fight back ^^
