It is the year 2287, one of the first colony ships sent out by Earth arrives at the planet Maria, in the Epsilon Indi Star System. During its landing sequence, something appears in front of the massive ship that causes it to lose control and crash into the planet. Some of the colonists survive in lifeboats, but what they find is an unforgiving land filled with creatures ready to outlast the visitors from Earth. Now the survivors must explore, gather, build, create, fight, and ultimately, conquer the land.

A small update that fixes most of the bugs found in 0.51 as well as added a camera sensitivity slider control to the options menu.

Oh my god... This game is amazing. Playing it right now -- All I can say is bravo on an insanely awesome alpha thus far... I will be looking at Pathea's progress on this for good. Keep up the amazing work!!!!!!!!!!!
Game was fun for 5 minutes then slowed to a halt. 8GB memory, HD6850, 6-core at 3.4ghz; shouldn't be happening. Also 95% of the game's features are vastly incomplete and/or broken, namely combat and the mind-numbing respawn system and quests. I understand this is an early alpha but at least get the important stuff working first before you release it as an alpha IMO (performance issues).
I hate to be a pessimist but I've literally not played a single game developed in Unity that has made me want to play it for more than half an hour without ripping my brain out. I am really hoping Pathea can make me believe that it's possible to develop a quality, fun gaming experience with Unity. StarForge was and remains a hilariously over-hyped failure of an alpha Unity game... please don't follow in their footsteps. I want to be able to come back here in a year or so and play a quality game.

Can you describe how it slowed? Were you building? Running? Panning? Facing a NPC? There seems to be a build bug that may cause massive slow down that was just discovered, we're still looking at it.

This game looks promising, and you seem to be able to translate your art or vision to a game, but unity is a strange engine to do this in.
unity at its best has the graphical capabilities of engines that existed 6 years ago, while needing a computer of this era. (quad core, 4 gig memory, ect.) this machine can run a lot of games from 2011 but i cant get a frame rate that looks better than a slideshow in planet explorers. to me it proves that unity is to blame, and actually not the developers as this happens in any game using unity.
i truly hope that this game turns out great as a sandbox building and adventure game, and that in some way it will run smoother on ever system possible.
Well, if we had $60 mil...or even $1 mil, we'd select a better engine or do our own, sure. But we don't. :)
We'll try to optimize more, especially the plants and animals, and I think we'll get some mileage out of it.

You have a issue in the adventure mode
right in the beggenning, she ask you to querry help but if you do so, you will lose wat look's to a tutorial.
You should créate à solid unbreakable bottom for your world (maybe lava), (I've reached the water like when I dig at the real world beach). It could help for your performance issue.
Night are boring, specially when adventure begin, when you can be one shoted by night creature (black spyder do come so close.) you should think about an option to skip (wait in oblivion)

why does it crash when it reaches 100 percent loaded ive tried all compatibility modes and resolution and my pc is strong enough to handle it

Are you in adventure or build mode? The 512X512 maps takes a long time to load for some people, we're still fixing it. I suggest you open the game, then goto story mode or use the 256X256 maps.
it wont work in any mode i even lowered setting down to minimum and it jut crashes. its not me i even leave it and windows just crashes it and if it helps im running 7( what u mean the 512x512 i cant change that it will only stay 256x 256)
Ok, can you send your output log (found in the game's folder) to admin@pathea.net? That should tell us what's going on. In the mean time, you could try manually updating your GPU driver found on AMDs site (~v13.1).

windows 7 i tried all the grahpics settings i tried windowed mode and im not sure of my specs but i can run AAA games at ultra

Can you be more specific? As in you can't move? Is there terrain?
I can move, the terrain is, everything is there, except the monsters of the buildings (the shuttle, tents).
Ok, we've seen this before. Can you find the output log in your game's folder and send that to admin@pathea.net? Close the game, then start a new one through story again and see if everything' generated.

Extract again, if that entire folder is missing, then something went wrong during the extraction.
