PLANDER is about a tiny astronaut who steals a spaceship and leaves Earth in search of something more from the universe. As he blasts his way through space, the ship's computer alerts him to various planets in danger, but it's totally up to Plander whether or not he decides to save them or drift into eternity all on his own. If he decides to land, there will be a landing mini game - the title comes from how he is known: “Planet Lander” - followed by some fun puzzle platforming and exploration in order to rescue the alien race and make it back to his ship with enough time left to survive another day. Once Plander returns to the ship, these new friends will stay on board and hang out. They may also give you little rewards for helping them escape.

Here is some early footage from PLANDER. In this clip, Plander is walking around some temp terrain.

The jumping feels pretty solid at this point, but now I need to start working on building in different level mechanics and artwork, to really flesh out the different worlds that he'll be exploring. In future updates expect to see some cool ways of getting around.

As stated in the summary of the game, there will be time for the player to take Plander outside and swim around through space. This is another early look at what that portion of the game will look like:

The current version of this has a few more features like the ability to switch tracks. Soon I'll be implementing more songs and some of the other EKO features. Once that happens you'll be able to open EKO up to ask him questions, get planet alerts, and commit him to repairs. If you're nice enough and create solid friendships with the aliens on the ship, they might join you for a swim one day.

In closing, I'd like to give you all some idea of what other kinds of music the game will have. I'll leave you with an early listen from the game's OST. This music is very different from the chip tune songs that I normally compose for my games, but it's been nice to take a break and play with different instruments and rhythms. Take a listen!
