Pioneers will be a turn-based game with RPG elements. It's a game where you start by assembling your exploration party with men with different abilities and skills. Every man counts and every skill counts. You need someone who's good with weapons and hunting, someone who is good with carpentry, someone who can draw maps, someone who could easily learn native languages and so on. Once that's done, you put them on a ship and head for some unknown land.

Three months have passed since the last build. Although there have been all sorts of ups and downs, it's been rather productive overall. The game now starts in a town where you can assemble your party, build ships and buy equipment. There's also a simple quests system, some resources to pick up, first usable tools and early combat system.

Welcome to Marciudad, pioneer. For now this whole town serves as sort of a menu but in the future there will be a lot more interactivity.

This is the quest book. The system is still being developed, so for now there's just one quest which should introduce some of the game mechanics.

There are also native villages scattered around the map but no villagers yet.

If you like what you see (and want to hear some good tunes), then you should definitely download and try it out. Just keep in mind this is an early development build and not everything works yet.

Of course I like it =)

One thing that distracts me is hardcore item management (buying, dropping, exchange). But I think it's just a matter of time and you'll end up with a handy interface.

Another thing is fight turns. I was using a sword to fight with a bear. Then I decided to step back and use the bow from the distance, but I was unable to do so until I got back to a melee fight and got hit from the bear. Then I finally was able to step back and shoot.

PS I think maybe the energy can replenish faster when you rest.

Hey, thanks for the comment and sorry for not replying sooner.

Yeah, the item management might be a little hardcore but once items are all implemented and they have different properties that actually matter, then I think it adds a lot of strategy, which I at least like. The dropping is a bit tedious, I know. I'll be adding a "Drop all" command soon and also an ability to drop items anywhere and also give them to someone else.

The combat system is mostly rewritten by now and should work much better but I'll definitely try that case out.

I too noticed that resting takes too long after a few plays so I've shortened the resting periods and very slightly decreased the amount of energy that movement uses.

Cheers!
