Pichón is a puzzle platformer where we control a character that's constantly bouncing. The player must solve puzzles and collect 5 gems to open the exit to the next level. Built using HTML5 and the Phaser game framework.

Progress:

  • Updated to Phaser 2.0.5
  • Switch and activatable blocks implemented.
  • Implemented exit door.
Now the level has an exit door that remains closed until you get all five gems.
  • Breakable blocks are now easier to tell apart from regular blocks, especially on mobile.

No visible changes this time, but a lot of code clean up and refactoring. It took a lot of time and there are still some things to do, but it will mean not struggling with ugly code further down the road.

Progress:

  • General code clean-up and refactoring to make it more maintainable
  • Rudimentary touch controls added. Touch the left half of the screen to move left and the right half to move right.
  • Fixed tunneling. Pichón doesn't go through walls anymore whenever there is a small drop in framerate.
  • Added google analytics.
