Overgrowth takes place in the savage world of Lugaru where rabbits, wolves and other animals are forced to use paws, claws and medieval weaponry to engage each other in battle. Combining 3rd person adventure platforming with intricate melee combat, Overgrowth achieves a unique feel. Overgrowth also benefits from Wolfire's brand new Phoenix Engine which has been built from the ground up to allow the use of cutting edge graphics, animation, and physics. Add to these exciting features Overgrowth’s realistic artificial intelligence and streamlined control system and the result is an astoundingly immersive experience.

Right now im imagining a wolf character tossing a rabbit character around ... B) ...

I dunno why, but ragdoll physics always looked a bit awkward to me ... i guess thats because when people fall, they don't go completely limp :/ ...

Maybe you should consider localising the ragdoll effect, so if you get hit in the back, for instance, only your spine goes limp while the rest of the body remains relatively rigid, at least, until the player dies...

Something like they had in Force Unleashed is good, where it's sort of ragdoll and physics-y, but then also the people try to grab onto things and flail around as they fall. :D

As I recall Mass effect had some awesome physics when lifting enemies with biotics.

Well, the project probably can't afford Euphoria so I'm guessing ragdoll physics will do fine.

ragdoll physicks are always awesome
in our days games without ragdolls physicks receive a lower rating than the games with R.P.(Ragdoll Physicks)
it is impossible to don't like it.lol

sure i dont rather play a game with death animations than Ragdoll, but yes, ragdoll isnt realistic! it is like... if you die, you font loose 10-20 pounds of bodyweight and u dont go all limb! =P still, i prefer ragdoll

Better than most, the friction between the ragdolls and the environment is much more believable than what I normally see. :D

the thing is, if you have scripted death sequences, it can get boring fast.

with ragdoll, its fun to see the body flop down stairs, or fall off a cliff after you stab them.

Indeed, It's esecially cool, since you can throw enemies and things around. I have had so much fun with the "rubberband" function in the editor and grappling moves when fighting with the robot ragdoll. I mostly try throwing him far enough so he falls off the edge of the map - ahhh, finally silence ;)

I just love how the music can make toothpaste/marshmallow people falling down so epic! Like... it had meaning and was fulfilling to watch!

now all you need is to add a skeleton and muscles to the body (with ragdoll physics on) and it won't look so unnatural

Bahaha, all I could think was it looked like some kind of ragdoll genocide as the music winded up.
